Des Moines New Age Shop & Community Center

I haven't visited since they moved to Merle Hay Mall. Decided to today. Wasn't super welcoming, but was talking to everyone else in the store. I walked around the store with incense in hand to see what else they had to offer. The guy behind the register jumped up as I was still looking round the front of the store, he thought I was ready to check out. I politely told him not yet. I sensed something was off, so I put the incense boxes away and left as I left, he shouted across the mall, asking if I put the boxes away, thinking that I stole. Awful impression, awful experience, not what it used to be.

Many low quality items that are way overpriced. We spent $35 on a ring for my daughter which immediately turned her finger green and the shop will not accept returns, even if it is because of a product flaw. They pointed out that they have signs all over that all sales are final, which they do. Very disappointing. Live and learn. The clerk was nice and helpful, but I will not return here. There are much nicer options at much more reasonable prices on Etsy or other gem shops.

What a lovely experience! Antoinette was so cool, calm collected. I am new to the craft, and have explored a few places around town, but this place felt right. Awesome selection of crystals, jewelry, home decor, herbs etc. Antoinette helped me in selecting my first Tarot deck. I love the astrology variety as well. I cannot wait to go back!!

The energy in this shop (no pun intended) is INCREDIBLE. From the vendors to the staff of the shop. Everyone is so kind and ready to help you out. It feels so comfortable, even for someone who is just getting into crystals and healing, such as myself.

This is the only review I've ever written about a business and I'm only writing this to warn you before purchasing anything here. If you aren't sure about what you should pay for crystals, this is not a good example. Prices here are OUTRAGEOUS. Quite literally 300-400% higher than any other metaphysical store I've ever been to. Only one employee was working and she made my girlfriend and I incredibly uncomfortable the entire time we visited, following us around and being unforgivingly awkward. Never wanted to leave a place quicker.
